Burdur Beige Marble and Travertine Supply

Burdur, in Turkey's Lakes region, is a dual-product production center — both beige marble and travertine are produced in the same geography. This dual source gives Sipahi single-coordination flexibility for mixed product needs. The warm cream tone character creates a Mediterranean architectural reference; the region is used intensively in Antalya and Aegean tourism projects. Sipahi Marble works with direct producer relationships.

REGION

Burdur — Lakes Region Dual-Product Center

Burdur province sits in Turkey's Mediterranean Lakes region — sharing the broader geological basin with Isparta but offering a different product profile. Regional karstic geology hosts both metamorphic beige marble beds and thermal-water-formed travertine deposits. This dual resource makes Burdur one of Turkey's most versatile natural stone regions.

Burdur beige marble carries the Lakes region's classic light beige tone character — sharing the family of Isparta beige (Sultan Beige) but a bit cooler cream-toned. Burdur travertine is known for its cross-cut and vein-cut options, warm cream color, texture and international recognition. Both are frequently referenced in Tuscan-Mediterranean aesthetics and are preferred in high volume for Antalya, Muğla and Aegean tourism-belt hotel projects.

Sipahi Marble sources from the Burdur region through direct producer relationships — both beige marble and travertine coordinated from different specialized producers within the same region. Road distance to our Adapazarı Tekeler supply coordination center is ~700 km; for export orders Antalya and Mersin ports are the natural exit points.

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS

Facade, Interior Flooring, Poolside, Spa

Facade cladding — travertine-led

Burdur travertine is widely used in facade applications under TS EN 1469. Vein-cut delivers rich natural pattern; cross-cut offers a more homogeneous look. Warm cream tone creates a Mediterranean architectural reference for residential, hotel, restaurant and boutique office facades; fixed with stainless steel anchors. Burdur beige marble is preferred for vein-detail facade applications in the same color family.

Interior flooring — dual option

Under TS EN 12058, Burdur offers both marble and travertine for interior flooring. Epoxy-filled and polished travertine suits prestige spaces; classic honed travertine suits Tuscan-Mediterranean style residential entries. Burdur beige marble is used in modern minimalist interiors for its cool-tone advantage.

Poolside, terrace and landscape — travertine

Under TS EN 1341, Burdur travertine (tumbled or brushed) shines for poolside, terrace, spa areas and landscape stone. Natural water absorption reduces slip risk; the warm cream tone harmonizes with other landscape elements. High-volume sourcing from this region for Antalya and Aegean tourism-belt hotel projects.

Bathroom, spa and sauna — travertine texture

Burdur travertine is used in bathroom walls, spa areas and sauna rest zones for its natural texture and warm-tone character. Vein-cut gives a natural wavy pattern; cross-cut is more homogeneous. Unfilled surface for classic hammam aesthetics, epoxy-filled for modern spas.

SIPAHI SUPPLY MODEL

Dual-Product Coordination — Single Contact

Sipahi Marble runs Burdur region beige marble and travertine supply under a single coordination. Sipahi is not a quarry operator and does not run its own CNC workshop; Sipahi serves as supplier, coordinator and fabrication partner — providing a single-point contact for the customer.

  1. Product mix and producer selection: Project spec is reviewed; if it includes a marble + travertine mix, parallel reservations are opened with our two producer contacts. For travertine, fill type (unfilled/cement/epoxy) and cut direction (cross-cut/vein-cut) are set.
  2. Transfer to Adapazarı Tekeler + final QC: Regional material moves ~700 km by road to our Adapazarı Tekeler showroom + supply coordination center. Dimensional tolerance, fill integrity and color homogeneity are re-checked here.
  3. Cut-to-size coordination (on request): Cut-to-size CNC work is coordinated at our partner fabrication workshops. Surface finish, edge profile and drilling steps happen here. Additional fill reinforcement for travertine can be done at this stage as well.
  4. Packaging, shipment and installation (on request): Domestic on wooden pallets, export in sea container crates. Export orders may leave Antalya, Mersin or Ambarlı port. Certificate of Origin, warranty and technical spec file accompany the shipment.

QUALITY STANDARDS

CE, LEED and Tourism-Project Specification

Burdur beige marble and travertine are tested under TS EN standards and shipped with CE Declaration of Performance. Facade references TS EN 1469; flooring references TS EN 12058; external paving references TS EN 1341. For travertine, TS EN 13755 (water absorption) sitting within the range specified by the project is critical, especially for exterior applications.

For tourism-sector projects (hotel, resort, spa), fill type and finish selection are recommended in line with the design brief. Unfilled natural travertine for classic hammam and rustic areas; epoxy-filled polished travertine for modern spa areas. Sipahi coordinates these selections with the customer's design team.

For international projects, ASTM C170, C880, C97 and C1028 values are provided together with producer test reports. For LEED-certified projects, producer location and material record are added to the submittal for Regional Materials credit.

FREQUENTLY ASKED

Burdur Beige Marble & Travertine — 7 Critical Questions

What is the difference between Burdur beige marble and Burdur travertine?

Burdur beige marble is calcite-metamorphic, dense and low-porosity; Burdur travertine is calcite-sedimentary, lightly porous and characteristically textured. Marble is denser and shiny at polish; travertine offers a lighter, more natural texture. Both come from the same region but geological origin and end use differ: marble → prestige interior; travertine → versatile interior + exterior.

How does Burdur travertine differ from Denizli travertine?

Both are Turkey's main travertine producing regions. Burdur travertine tends to have a cooler cream tone and finer bedding; Denizli travertine has a warmer yellow-cream tone and heavier bedding. Selection depends on aesthetic intent — both can substitute for each other in Mediterranean-Aegean tourism projects; Burdur is often preferred for classic Tuscan aesthetics, Denizli for warm Roman aesthetics.

How does Sipahi source from Burdur?

Sipahi works through direct producer relationships in the Burdur region. Beige marble and travertine are coordinated from different producers within the same region. Once an order is confirmed, block/slab reservation is opened by product type — on request, a photo report is prepared for vein/bedding/fill selection. Road distance to our Adapazarı Tekeler center is ~700 km; standard delivery lead time is 6-9 business days.

What are the travertine fill options?

Burdur travertine ships in three fill options: (1) Unfilled (natural) — pores open, classic hammam-rustic aesthetic; (2) Cement-filled — pores closed with color-matched cement mortar, economical for exterior use; (3) Epoxy-filled — pores closed with color-matched epoxy, preferred for polished interior flooring. Surface finish (polished, honed, brushed, tumbled) is selected separately.

Is there a minimum order quantity?

No minimum for domestic orders — small residential and boutique project line items are served. For export orders one full container (~20-24 tons or 300-400 m²) is the economic floor. Travertine's lower weight-per-m² compared to marble means the same container ships more m².

What determines pricing?

Burdur beige marble and travertine pricing depends on five main factors: (1) product type (marble vs travertine), (2) cutting direction (cross-cut vs vein-cut for travertine), (3) fill type (unfilled/cement/epoxy), (4) surface finish, (5) order volume. For standard pricing tiers, share project details via WhatsApp or email; a written quote follows within 24-48 hours.

Are CE and LEED documents provided?

Yes. Burdur beige marble and travertine ship under CE Declaration of Performance for TS EN 1469 (facade), TS EN 12058 (flooring), TS EN 12057 (modular tiles) and TS EN 1341 (external paving). For LEED submittals, producer documentation is attached for Regional Materials contribution; technical values are included in the product spec sheet.
