Isparta
The Isparta basin is a medium-scale but technically mature travertine production region; classic cream and gold-toned varieties are produced. Positioned within reasonable distance of Antalya and İzmir ports.
STONE-TYPE HUB · TURKEY = WORLD TRAVERTINE LEADER
Turkey is one of the principal geographies of world travertine production and export. Afyon-İscehisar (Sugar, Violet, Silver), Denizli-Kızılcabölük (classic cream, gold-veined), Antalya-Taurus (warm beige), Isparta, Burdur and Kayseri form the backbone of Turkish travertine exports. Sipahi Marble has been sourcing directly from producers in these regions since 1989; our Adapazarı Tekeler supply coordination center handles final inspection and fabrication-partner CNC coordination, and export programs are served to the US, Gulf and European lanes.
REGIONAL SOURCES
Sugar · Violet · Silver · Light
İscehisar Industrial Zone, Sandıklı and Şuhut corridor — the center of Turkish travertine production. Internationally known as Afyon Sugar (classic cream white), Violet/Menekşe (lilac-violet veined prestige), Silver (silver grey) and Light (economical light beige).

Classic · Light · Silver
A production corridor known since Roman antiquity. Kızılcabölük and Pamukkale basin produces cream, gold-veined and silver-toned classic travertine. Proximity to İzmir and Mersin ports is an export logistics advantage.
~720 km to Adapazarı Tekeler
Taurus beige-cream travertine
The Taurus corridor travertine beds are recognized for warm cream-beige tone and medium-porosity texture. Antalya port proximity is a logistics advantage for Gulf and Eastern Mediterranean export; regional Mediterranean residential and hotel programs are served directly.
~700 km to Adapazarı Tekeler · Antalya port ~120 km
The Isparta basin is a medium-scale but technically mature travertine production region; classic cream and gold-toned varieties are produced. Positioned within reasonable distance of Antalya and İzmir ports.
The Burdur basin travertine beds are especially known for white-cream and light silver-toned varieties. It is a significant supplementary region for Turkish travertine exports.
The Kayseri corridor provides an economical segment for interior flooring and mid-scale facade programs; a frequent source for Central Anatolian residential projects.

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS
Turkish travertine is a globally recognized reference material for large-scale facade programs. Cream, silver and gold tones provide soft texture for residential, hotel and commercial building facades. Fixed with stainless steel mechanical anchors; filling slows water penetration. Turkish travertine has decades of durability record in US, Gulf and European public building and prestige residential facades.
Travertine provides warm, textured floor surfaces for interiors. Polished finish is preferred for hotel lobbies and prestige spaces; honed and filled finish suits residential living areas. Bookmatch wall applications are feasible with wide-format panels. Turkish production offers a wide palette and consistent color repetition, which simplifies large-project execution.
Brushed or sandblasted Turkish travertine provides non-slip texture and lower surface heat retention for pool surrounds, terraces and shopping mall plazas. Silver and Light varieties provide a comfortable walking surface in summer; classic cream tones align with Mediterranean architecture.
Turkish travertine supplies a significant share of world travertine exports. US (Los Angeles, New York, Houston, Miami), Gulf (Jebel Ali, Dammam, Doha), Europe (Rotterdam, Hamburg) and Far East lanes are regular shipment channels. At Coverings 2027 Orlando, Sipahi will specifically present Turkish travertine programs for US architects.
SIPAHI BUSINESS MODEL
Sipahi Marble is not a quarry operator, and does not run its own CNC workshop. Sipahi = natural stone supplier + coordinator + fabrication partner network. The following four-step model applies to Turkish travertine orders:
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Turkey is one of the leading geographies of world travertine production and export. The Afyon-İscehisar corridor alone supplies a significant portion of global travertine; Denizli, Antalya, Isparta, Burdur and Kayseri complete this production. US, Gulf, European and Far East markets regularly trade Turkish travertine in classic cream, silver, gold-veined and prestige Violet (Menekşe) varieties. Sipahi has been exporting from these regions since 1989; İMİB Registry 336480.
Afyon-İscehisar is known for Sugar (classic cream white), Violet (Menekşe lilac-violet prestige) and Silver (silver grey). Denizli-Kızılcabölük produces classic cream, gold-veined and silver-toned varieties. Antalya-Taurus produces warm beige-cream tones. Isparta and Burdur are supplementary sources in classic cream and gold. Kayseri provides an economical segment for interior flooring and mid-scale facade. Sipahi coordinates the best region-variety combination based on project specification and aesthetic target.
The decision depends on the use. Filled travertine — pores filled with resin or cementitious grout — offers hygiene and cleaning ease for interior flooring, facade and countertop; water absorption is materially reduced. Unfilled travertine offers a more natural look; it is preferred for outdoor paths, rustic interiors and authentic projects. Polished finish appears more reflective when filled; honed finish shows natural texture in both.
Sipahi is not a quarry operator, and does not run its own CNC workshop. Sipahi = natural stone supplier + coordinator + fabrication partner network. We maintain long-standing producer relationships in Afyon, Denizli, Antalya, Isparta, Burdur and Kayseri. Once an order is confirmed we coordinate block/slab reservation by region and variety; the material reaches our Adapazarı Tekeler supply coordination center, is inspected, and cut-to-size CNC needs are coordinated through fabrication partners; delivery is by domestic road or export sea container.
For export, one full container (~20-24 tons or 300-400 m²) is the economic floor. This typically covers a mid-sized residential project. Hotel and large commercial programs are planned at 3-10 container tiers; unit m² cost decreases with volume. For samples and trade panels we arrange LTL solutions.
Yes. With proper anchor design, filled slab selection (in cold climate) and periodic impregnation (protective sealer) maintenance, Turkish travertine delivers 30+ years of facade service life. This durability is observed in US and Gulf hotel/residential projects. Freeze-thaw testing (TS EN 12371), abrasion testing (TS EN 14157) and water absorption testing (TS EN 13755) guide variety selection; Sipahi attaches test certificates to project files.
After sharing project information (quantity, dimensions, variety preference, fill option, surface finish) via WhatsApp or email, Sipahi ships 15x15 cm or 30x30 cm samples. For large prestige projects a 60x60 cm trade panel (or bookmatch pair) is prepared. At an appointed Adapazarı Tekeler showroom visit, all region-variety combinations can be examined by physical comparison.
Yes. Turkish travertine can be included in submittals under LEED v4/v4.1 MR (Materials & Resources) credits with proper product evidence; sourcing from producer lines with existing EPD (Environmental Product Declaration) is prioritized. For BREEAM projects, Sipahi adds quarry-producer-Adapazarı-site chain-of-custody tracking records to the project file. Detailed sustainability requirements must be specified at project kickoff.
Contact us via WhatsApp or email with project dimensions, variety preference (Sugar / Violet / Silver / Golden / Light / Classic), regional preference (Afyon / Denizli / Antalya / other), fill option and surface finish requirements. First response the same day; detailed written offer within 24-48 hours.
