PACKAGE SCOPE

20ft / 40ft / 40HC + ISPM-15 Pallet + Port Exit + Documentation

20ft standard container (~22 tons)

Approx. 22 tons of natural stone in a 20-foot sea container — suits mid-scale projects or mixed loads (multiple stone types in one container). 1.2-1.8 tons per pallet, 12-18 pallets per container. Preferred for small export starts or sample-batch shipments.

40ft standard container (~25 tons)

Approx. 25 tons of natural stone in a 40-foot container — the main format for large single-stone-type project shipments. 20-24 pallets per container, economical per-m² freight cost. The most common format for GCC + EU + US export orders.

40HC jumbo slab container

40-foot High Cube container loaded with jumbo slabs (3200 x 1600 mm or 3400 x 1900 mm large format) on A-frame slab racks. 40-60 jumbo slabs per container capacity. Preferred on prestige residential, hotel lobby and large business center facade projects — jumbo slab visual impact drives high architect demand.

ISPM-15 stamped wooden pallet + shrink wrap + corner protection

Pallets are built from heat-treated (ISPM-15) wood — GCC, EU, US and Kazakhstan customs regulations require compliance. Panels are secured on pallets with corner-to-corner shrink wrap + cardboard corner protection + wooden wedges. Polyethylene liner is added for shock and moisture protection during sea transport.

Ambarlı / Mersin / İskenderun port exit

Turkey's main export ports: Ambarlı (İstanbul), Mersin, İskenderun. Ambarlı is Sipahi's main exit point — 2-3 hours by road from Adapazarı Tekeler. For GCC destinations, Mersin or İskenderun offer faster sea transit (5-7 days); for US East Coast Ambarlı (14-18 days); for Northern Europe Ambarlı (7-10 days). For Kazakhstan destinations, multimodal (Mersin-Aktau ferry + road) or direct road options.

Export documentation and Incoterms — EXW, FOB, CIF, CFR

Sipahi supports all main Incoterms: (1) EXW (factory delivery) — client arranges freight, (2) FOB (free on board) — Sipahi delivers to port, client thereafter, (3) CFR (cost and freight) — Sipahi covers sea freight to destination port, (4) CIF (cost, insurance, freight) — Sipahi includes freight and insurance. Documentation: commercial invoice + packing list + certificate of origin + İMİB member certificate (Registry 336480) + test reports + CE Declaration of Performance + L/C compatible package if needed.

SIPAHI 5-STEP EXPORT MODEL

Request → Sample → Intermediate Storage → Container + Customs → Sea + Delivery

  1. Request + destination country + stone type + quantity assessment: Via WhatsApp or email, destination country, stone type, panel/block/slab format, quantity (m² or tons) and target delivery date are collected. Within 3-5 business days CIF/FOB/EXW pricing tier + container format recommendation + delivery schedule is issued.
  2. Sample + trade sample approval + L/C preparation: A small sample (100 x 100 mm or 300 x 300 mm) reaches the client via air freight within 5-10 business days. On approval a pro-forma invoice is issued; the order opens with an L/C (Letter of Credit) or T/T (bank transfer) payment term.
  3. Adapazarı intermediate storage — loading preparation: Stone collected from the regional supplier network passes final QC at the Adapazarı Tekeler supply coordination center. Placed on ISPM-15 stamped pallets; each pallet is photographed and labeled.
  4. Container loading + port transfer + customs: The container is loaded at Adapazarı or an empty container is dispatched to the port. Customs formalities at Ambarlı / Mersin / İskenderun are handled by Sipahi's contracted customs broker. Customs exit document + Bill of Lading (B/L) are issued to the client.
  5. Sea transit + destination port delivery + document handover: During sea transit the client is given daily tracking access (shipping line tracking). At the destination port, container arrival, customs clearance and delivery are managed by the client's agent (CIF/CFR); Sipahi's responsibility ends at the sea delivery boundary. All documents are handed over in original form.

FREQUENTLY ASKED

Export Container — 8 Critical Questions

As a small client, should I choose full container or partial load?

For orders under 20 tons a partial load (LCL — Less than Container Load) can be economical — but per-ton freight cost is 20-40% higher than full container (FCL). For orders over 20 tons FCL is always more economical. Sipahi supports LCL as well; however extra handling in loading + unloading increases damage risk — hence for under-20-ton samples or trade samples we recommend air freight or LCL, and for over-20-ton orders full container.

What's the difference between 40HC jumbo slab container and standard 40ft?

The 40HC (High Cube) container is 30 cm taller than a standard 40ft (approx. 2.7 m vs 2.4 m internal height). This extra height allows jumbo slabs (3200 x 1600 mm or 3400 x 1900 mm) to be carried upright on A-frame slab racks — jumbo slabs will not fit upright in a standard 40ft. Freight cost is 5-10% higher for 40HC, but architect demand on prestige projects makes this worthwhile.

Which destination countries require CE Declaration of Performance?

EU (European Union) member states and the UK mandate CE Declaration of Performance (TS EN 1469 facade, TS EN 12058 interior floor, TS EN 12057 modular) for natural stone cladding. GCC countries accept CE but the primary mandatory document is local certification such as Saudi SASO. In the US market ASTM standards (C170, C880, C97) are the main reference — CE serves as a supplementary document. Kazakhstan requires EAEC (Eurasian Economic Union) certification. Sipahi procures all these certificates through its contracted certification partners.

How is L/C compatible documentation prepared?

Sipahi's contracted bank relationships and export consultant are experienced with L/C-compliant documentation. Standard L/C set: (1) commercial invoice (bank-approved by Sipahi), (2) packing list, (3) certificate of origin (İMİB or TİM approved), (4) B/L, (5) insurance policy (for CIF), (6) inspection certificate (SGS or similar, if required), (7) FIATA or ISPM-15 fumigation certificate. During L/C opening the client shares bank details; Sipahi's legal and accounting side approves the L/C wording. Pre-shipment inspection is recommended to minimize discrepancy risk.

For Kazakhstan, multimodal or direct road — which is more suitable?

For Kazakhstan's western region close to Türkiye (Aktau, Atyrau, near Nur-Sultan), multimodal — from Mersin port sea ferry to Aktau, then road to inland. Sea 3-5 days, road extra 2-4 days, total 5-9 days. For Almaty region, direct road (Türkiye-Georgia-Azerbaijan-Caspian crossing) is often more economical but longer (14-21 days). Sipahi's contracted Kazakhstan logistics partner assesses the route on a project basis.

Can Turkish master installation crew be added on GCC market projects?

Yes — part of our Model 3 (Turnkey) package. In GCC countries a Turkish master installation crew (master + journeyman + supervising engineer) is organized with visa + accommodation + safety training + daily progress reports. This package can be requested separately or combined with the export container full supply. For detail see 'Hotel Hospitality Turnkey Supply' and 'Facade Cladding Full System Supply' pages.

How does the Coverings 2027 Orlando pre-scheduled meeting work?

Berkay Sipahi (Managing Director) accepts pre-scheduled meetings at Coverings Orlando (April 6-9, 2027) with US-based architecture studios + distributors + hotel operators. Request via [email protected]; the request form should include studio/company name, project portfolio, stone types of interest and requested time window. Pre-show spec review PDF is prepared jointly; on-floor sample panel review and follow-up pilot export container order planning are consolidated into one visit.

What information should I prepare to receive a quote?

For fastest response: (1) destination country and city, (2) target port or inland city delivery, (3) stone type and commercial name if any, (4) format (raw block, standard slab, jumbo slab, cut-to-size), (5) quantity (m² or tons or container count), (6) preferred finish, (7) Incoterm (EXW / FOB / CFR / CIF), (8) payment terms (T/T or L/C), (9) target delivery date and (10) any special certification requirement (CE / ASTM / SASO / EAEC). Based on this brief, pro-forma invoice + delivery schedule + documentation package is issued within 3-5 business days.
