Kayseri Travertine Supply

Kayseri is a travertine production center around Mount Erciyes in Turkey's Central Anatolia region. Regional geology hosts thermal-water travertine deposits; it is preferred as a regional-continuity reference in Central Anatolia and Cappadocia tourism-belt projects. Sipahi Marble runs direct producer relationships in the region.

REGION

Kayseri — Erciyes and Central Anatolia Travertine Deposits

Kayseri province sits in Central Anatolia, around the volcanic Mount Erciyes. The region's volcanic-hydrothermal geology combined with rich thermal water sources has produced high-quality travertine deposits. Kayseri travertine offers differently-characterized profiles (fine-bedding, medium-bedding, heavy-bedding) within the region.

The region historically used travertine in Seljuk and Ottoman architecture; today it is preferred for modern hotels, boutique manor houses and prestige residential projects in Erciyes and the Cappadocia tourism belt as a regional-material reference. The mid cream-beige character matches Central Anatolia climate and architectural references.

Sipahi Marble sources from the Kayseri region through direct producer relationships. Road distance to our Adapazarı Tekeler supply coordination center is ~700 km. Access to differently-characterized producers within the region provides flexibility in cut direction, fill type and finish per project need; short-logistics advantage in Central Anatolia and Cappadocia projects.

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS

Facade, Interior Flooring, Poolside, Cappadocia Tourism

Facade cladding

Kayseri travertine suits facade applications under TS EN 1469 as a Seljuk-Ottoman-Erciyes region architectural reference. The warm cream-beige tone offers a rich aesthetic language for residential, hotel and prestige office facades; panels are fixed with stainless steel mechanical anchors. Filled + polished for classic facades; tumbled for rustic facades.

Interior flooring and staircase

Under TS EN 12058, Kayseri travertine is preferred for classic-to-modern transition interiors thanks to its warm-tone character. Epoxy-filled + polished for hotel lobbies and prestige residential entries; honed for living areas. Filet cut edge profiles (bullnose, ogee) are produced at partner workshops; non-slip finish ensures staircase safety.

Poolside, terrace and landscape

Under TS EN 1341, Kayseri travertine (tumbled or brushed) is used for poolside, terrace, spa areas and landscape stone. Natural water absorption reduces slip risk; the warm tone harmonizes with other landscape elements. In Cappadocia tourism region hotel projects it offers a regional-material reference.

Cappadocia-style interior decor and hammam

Kayseri travertine is preferred in Cappadocia tourism / boutique hotel projects for interior decor, hammam walls and ceilings. Unfilled surface creates classic hammam aesthetics; tumbled surface produces rustic cave-hotel aesthetics. Regional fabrication workshops carry experience for complex cuts and pattern layouts.

SIPAHI SUPPLY MODEL

Direct Producer + Adapazarı Final QC + Cut-to-Size Coordination

Sipahi Marble runs a four-step business model for Kayseri travertine orders. Sipahi is not a quarry operator and does not run its own CNC workshop; Sipahi serves as supplier, coordinator and fabrication partner — a single-point contact for the customer.

  1. Spec review and regional producer selection: Project spec is reviewed; block or slab reservation is opened with a suitable producer in Kayseri. Cut direction (cross-cut/vein-cut), fill type (unfilled/cement/epoxy) and bedding character are set at this step.
  2. Transfer to Adapazarı Tekeler + final QC: Regional material moves ~700 km by road to our Adapazarı Tekeler coordination center. Dimensional tolerance, fill integrity and color homogeneity are re-checked here.
  3. Cut-to-size coordination (on request): Cut-to-size CNC work is coordinated at our partner fabrication workshops. Surface finish, edge profile and drilling steps happen here. Additional fill reinforcement for travertine can also be done at this stage.
  4. Packaging, shipment and installation (on request): Domestic on wooden pallets, export in sea container crates. Export orders may leave Mersin or Ambarlı port per project routing. Certificate of Origin, warranty and technical spec file accompany the shipment.

QUALITY STANDARDS

CE, LEED and Tourism-Project Specification

Kayseri travertine is tested under TS EN standards and shipped with CE Declaration of Performance. Facade references TS EN 1469; flooring references TS EN 12058; external paving references TS EN 1341. For travertine, TS EN 13755 (water absorption) sitting within the specified range is critical, especially for exterior applications.

For Cappadocia and Central Anatolia tourism-sector projects (hotels, boutique manor houses, spa), fill type and finish selection are recommended in line with the design brief. Unfilled natural travertine for classic hammam and rustic zones; epoxy-filled polished travertine for modern interiors.

For international projects, ASTM C170, C880, C97 and C1028 values are provided together with producer test reports. For LEED-certified projects, producer location and material record are added to the submittal for Regional Materials credit.

FREQUENTLY ASKED

Kayseri Travertine — 7 Critical Questions

How does Kayseri travertine differ from Denizli and Antalya travertine?

All three are Turkey's main travertine production centers but their characters differ. Denizli travertine: warm yellow-cream, heavy bedding. Antalya travertine: cooler cream, medium bedding. Kayseri travertine: mid cream-beige with a distinct texture profile from the Central Anatolia-Erciyes character. For Central Anatolia and Cappadocia projects, Kayseri offers a regional-continuity reference.

How does Sipahi source from Kayseri?

Sipahi works through direct producer relationships in the Kayseri region. Once an order is confirmed, block/slab reservation is opened with the regional producer — on request, a photo report is prepared for bedding character, fill type and finish selection. Road distance to our Adapazarı Tekeler supply center is ~700 km; standard delivery lead time is 6-9 business days.

What are the travertine fill options?

Kayseri travertine ships in three fill options: (1) Unfilled (natural) — pores open, classic hammam-rustic aesthetic; (2) Cement-filled — pores closed with color-matched cement mortar, economical for exterior use; (3) Epoxy-filled — pores closed with color-matched epoxy, preferred for polished interior flooring. Surface finish (polished, honed, brushed, tumbled) is selected separately.

What is the difference between cross-cut and vein-cut?

Cross-cut travertine is cut perpendicular to bedding — offering a more homogeneous tone and less pronounced pattern; preferred for interior flooring and large-scale facades where tonal consistency matters. Vein-cut travertine is cut parallel to bedding — showing rich natural wavy patterns; preferred for hammam walls, decor panels and boutique facade applications where aesthetic character is the goal.

Is there a minimum order quantity?

No minimum for domestic orders — small residential and boutique project line items are served. For export orders one full container (~20-24 tons or 300-400 m²) is the economic floor. Travertine's lower weight-per-m² compared to marble means the same container ships more m².

What determines pricing?

Kayseri travertine pricing depends on five main factors: (1) cut direction (cross-cut vs vein-cut), (2) fill type (unfilled/cement/epoxy), (3) surface finish, (4) bedding character (fine/medium/heavy), (5) order volume. For standard pricing tiers, share project details via WhatsApp or email; a written quote follows within 24-48 hours.

Are CE and LEED documents provided?

Yes. Kayseri travertine ships under CE Declaration of Performance for TS EN 1469 (facade), TS EN 12058 (flooring), TS EN 12057 (modular tiles) and TS EN 1341 (external paving). For LEED submittals, producer documentation is attached for Regional Materials contribution; water absorption and technical values are included in the product spec sheet.
