For white marble export to the US market, ASTM C503 (White Marble) is the baseline specification framework; compressive strength (ASTM C170), flexural (ASTM C880) and durability (ASTM C99) test reports are requested together. For Northeast US climate conditions (New York, Boston, Chicago), ASTM C666 freeze-thaw durability testing is mandatory. Most US prestige projects mandate or expect LEED v4/v4.1 (USGBC) green building certification; CalGreen is additionally mandatory in California, and CDPH Section 01350 is requested for indoor air quality. Turkish white marble is included in submittal processes for MR (Materials & Resources) credits with EPD (Environmental Product Declaration) product evidence. Natural stone VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) emissions are negligible and thus natively compatible with the CDPH standard; installation adhesive and sealant products should also be VOC-certified.
Miami Beach and Palm Beach oceanfront luxury tower programs fall under the FBC HVHZ (Florida Building Code, High Velocity Hurricane Zone) framework. It requires the facade cladding system (marble + mechanical anchor + insulation) to be designed and certified to withstand certain wind speeds (146+ mph). Turkish white marble is used as a slab in this system; it is designed together with a stainless-steel mechanical anchor system (Miami-Dade Notice of Acceptance / NOA certified).
