The same natural stone can deliver very different appearances and usability through surface finishing: polished (bright and reflective, lobby/interior), matte (honed, no reflection, more natural), brushed (light anti-slip), flamed (rough texture, anti-slip — ideal outdoors), antique / tumbled (vintage look, beach houses), bush-hammered (matte and grippy, perfect for stairs). All finishes are produced at our workshop via CNC and skilled finishing teams.
For granite and marble stair applications, the most critical detail is the safety cut at the stair edge. Sipahi Marble offers options including: bevelled edge (45° edge), grooved edge (anti-slip channels), flamed edge (anti-slip surface), L-profile overhang (wider step appearance) and concealed LED groove (modern lighting). All treads include sub-surface anti-slip cutting. Risers are typically 2 cm thick, treads 3 cm.
In hotels, plazas, malls and prestige residential entrances, the lobby floor is the first aesthetic element every visitor sees. Approaches we recommend for lobby projects: large-format slabs (60×120, 80×160, 100×200 cm), symmetrical vein direction (book-match or quad-match), contrasting border application (frame in another stone), water-jet cut custom logos or motifs. Lobby floors typically use matte (honed) finish — polished surfaces show footprints and wear.
The most important criterion for outdoor flooring is freeze–thaw resistance. Sipahi recommends granite (all types suitable), travertine (with flamed/brushed finish), basalt and volcanic stones for outdoor use. Marble is not recommended for coastal or wet regions (due to porosity). Anti-slip surface (flamed or brushed) is mandatory for balcony, terrace and pool surround applications. Outdoor panels use 5–8 mm joint widths over a waterproof membrane.
1. Substrate preparation: structural inspection, levelling, thermal and moisture barrier layers.
2. Slab selection: stone, dimensions, finish and vein direction agreed with client.
3. Workshop cutting: CNC-produced slabs to required dimensions and edge profile.
4. On-site installation: rapid-set adhesive or damp-proof bonding, slab laying.
5. Joint filling: epoxy or cement-based grout — colour chosen by client.
6. Polishing and handover: surface cleaning, final inspection, delivery to client.
Marble and granite flooring pricing depends on stone type, thickness (2 cm / 3 cm), surface finish, panel size, joint type and project area. For 2027 Turkey pricing, indicative ranges per m²: 1,800–7,500 TRY (material + labour + VAT inclusive). Granite flooring 2,500–5,500 TRY, marble 2,800–7,500 TRY, travertine 1,800–4,500 TRY. All natural stone flooring carries a 2-year workmanship warranty. Maintenance recommendations: annual impregnator coating (granite/marble), regular cleaning with neutral pH products, avoidance of abrasive and acidic cleaners, no direct contact with heavy objects (felt pads recommended). With correct care, natural stone floors remain as-new for 25+ years.
